Unidentified gunmen assassinate senior Iraq intelligence officer

A security source in Karbala province said on Saturday that unidentified gunmen assassinated an officer with the rank of captain in the Al-Hur district in the center of the province.
The source told PUKmedia that two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle assassinated Captain Abbas Kadhiem Abdul-Wahed Al-Khazali, Director of the Intelligence Division of Al-Hur District.
Adding that the security forces cordoned off the scene of the accident without knowing the motives for the assassination, revealing that an investigation was opened immediately.
The assassination of security personnel is a common matter as last June unidentified gunmen shot Colonel Nebras Farman, a Shia Kurd who was head of the Financial Audit and Budget Department of the intelligence service and Last March, unidentified gunmen assassinated a prominent officer in the intelligence service in the Mansour district of Baghdad.
