Peshmerga Ministry calls for further cooperation between Peshmerga, Defence and Coalition forces

On Thursday night, ISIS terrorists attacked two villages in Erbil's Makhmur district, which led to the death and injury of a number of civilians.

Rashad Galali, the Deputy Head of the Erbil Organizations Center of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, told PUKmedia, "last night, ISIS terrorists attacked a village in Kandinawa sub-district in Erbil governorate."

"The attack resulted in the death of 3 brothers and the wounding of a number of other villagers," he added.

He indicated that ISIS terrorists also attacked another village in Sargaran sub-district, but the attack did not result in any casualties.

In this regard, the Ministry of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Region issued a statement on the terrorist attack that targeted a village in the borders of Makhmur district in Erbil governorate.

The ministry's statemen said, "ISIS terrorist attacked the village of Khidrjija near Mount Qarchugh, as a result of this brutal attack, which indiscriminately targeted civilians in that village, 3 civilians were killed and several others ware wounded."

"Immediately after the terrorist attack, the Peshmerga forces rushed to the aid of the villagers and were able to control the situation in a short time," the statement added. 

It continued, "after that, the Peshmerga forces carried out a combing operation in the area, and at that time one of the Peshmerga vehicles was ambushed by the ISIS terrorists. Unfortunately, it led to the death of 7 members of the Peshmerga forces."

Regarding the issue, the Ministry of Peshmerga called for further cooperation between the Ministries of Peshmerga and Defense and the Coalition Forces.
