PUK spokesperson: We will continue to appeal against election results in Erbil, Nineveh

Regarding the communiqué issued by the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party on December 2 ,2021, Amin Baba Sheikh, the spokesperson for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) issued a statement that said:

We are confident that the retaking of the two parliamentary seats in the governorates of Erbil and Nineveh was a legitimate right of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Coalition. We recovered them through appeal and legal methods, and they were returned to their rightful owner, which means that the violations were dealt with by legal means.

We are continuing in this vein to regain our three seats for our candidates in the Kurdistan Coalition in the first, third and fourth electoral districts of Erbil, Nineveh.

We are absolutely certain that the Iraqi President, Dr. Barham Salih, is the protector of the constitution and performs his duties according to the law and the constitution without any interference in the affairs of the Independent High Electoral Commission.
