Bafel Jalal Talabani calls on Canadian companies to invest in Kurdistan Region

On Thursday, Bafel Jalal Talabani, in the presence of Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a Member of the executive body at the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received in Dabashan, Slemani, Erbil Head of Embassy Office of Canada Yves Duval.

During the meeting, they discussed the post-election stage in Iraq, the participation of the Kurds in the next Iraqi government, the progress of the political and economic process and the development of economic and economic relations between the two sides, while reference was made to the visions of the PUK on these issues.

Also, they stressed on cooperation and development of political and economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and Canada in a way that serves developing the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region, encouraging companies and entrepreneurs to invest their money in the Kurdistan Region.

On the recent political developments in Baghdad, Bafel Jalal Talabani explained to the visiting delegation that the formation of an effective government is one of the requirements of the current stage and is in response to the demands of the people and all the political parties, stating that "we support these efforts in order to provide more services to the people." 

He also pointed out that "for the Kurds, our unity at home is essential to be able to protect the Kurd's rights in Baghdad," stressing that he is making efforts to form a national front to hold dialogues with the Iraqi parties.

Regarding the situation in the Kurdistan Region, Bafel Jalal Talabani said, "we welcome any steps toward improving people's lives," adding that "it is our priority to provide better services to our people and to reform the organizations and the government for that reason."
