In the presence of Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the graduation ceremony of the graduated students of the American University of Iraq- Sulaimani was held on Saturday.

"The KRG will continue to provide more job opportunities for graduates of universities and institutes," Talabani said during a speech he gave at the ceremony.

"Innovation and invention should be made in the higher education, and our universities should be connected to the labor market," he added.

American University of Iraq- Sulaimani is a not-for-profit, private institution for public benefit, located in Slemani city of the Kurdistan Region. The university offers an American-style liberal arts education to students from various economic, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

In his speech, Qubad Talabani also said: "We are here today, at the American University of Iraq- Sulaimani, to participate in the graduation ceremony of students whose capabilities will benefit the country in the future and can have a significant role in the reconstruction of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq."

"The American University, which holds the name of the biggest and strongest country, is the product of martyrs' blood which is why we should be greatly proud that our young people are now being trained and educated in this university in a modern way to serve our country," he added.

"The Kurdistan Region and Iraq need the capabilities of the students of the American University and all the universities of the Kurdistan Region, which is why these students are graduating today to play their role in rebuilding the country," Talabani emphasized.

Qubad Talabani also stressed, that "the youth are the hope of the future and it is necessary to pay more attention to them," calling on them to participate widely in the upcoming legislative elections because they are crucial for providing a better life for young people.

It is noteworthy that the PUK and Gorran formed the  Kurdistan Coalition list last May. The Coalition is headed by Qubad Talabani, who is currently the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Iraq will hold elections on October 10, ahead of schedule. Early elections were one of the demands of the protesters who took to the Iraqi streets in October 2019 to vent their anger and frustration at the government's inability to fight corruption and provide them with security and stability.
